Post race wandering

I laid around Lethbridge for a couple of days after the race. I could not have left if I wanted to as I was very beat. I went to the race breakfast on Sunday morning and then just puttered around the rest of the day and slepts when I could. I didn't get a great night's sleep on Sunday but checked out and headed south on Monday morning.

The northern plains are beautiful this time of year. The golden fields stretching off into infinity. I stopped at cardston to go to the Carrige Museum, and then figured to head on to the Glacier area and tour that park with maybe the idea of staying there overnight.

It was raining and nasty near Glacier. Made it up to Many Glaciers. The place was packed with old people who seemed to have been uncovered > by the melting ice of the receeding glaciers. It felt like a fucking > morgue, or the rec room of a care home. I beat it out of > there...missed ST. Mary's access to the road to the sun.....I don't > know how....more fucking old people milling around, blocking the > signs, falling into the gutters and forming long lines at every damn > bathroom with in 50 miles...it was a day of the living dead up > there.... and I just figured I'd seen enough rain and sleet, gray > skinned blank stares and cold damn cliffs, and headed for Driggs. > Another marathon---who says you have to RUN ultras? Anyway I made it > here by 2:00 AM and that was that.
