An Over and Back

An over and Back is from Paradise to Nu'uanu and back. It takes between three to four hours and entails two very rugged ups and steep downs. What is level is generally very technical given the roots and rocks. Pictures of an over and back. (http://picasaweb.google.com/mmuench01/MonicaSSunday#)

I did about half of this in the dark. Manoa is always hard in the dark and even more treacherous than normal. I did a 4 hour turn. Nothing great but I had a few phone calls and an occasional good slip or fall.

I was running in my Addidas Supernova Trail 5's which I really like. This version is not that hot but it is good. I had on two pairs of socks. Inginge toe socks under a pair of Thurlo running crew socks. I was running with a camelpack with a full bladder.

This was a solo run. It was not hard but I'm very tired. It rained yesterday and I managed to catch some non-rain time. Trails were beautiful in general, with patches of mud.
